If anyone remembers earlier pictures of my City of Saint Barbara, you may note that I never showed the other side of town.  That's because there was nothing there.  So, over the past several weeks I have been constructing new buildings and rehabilitating some old structures to populate the other main street in town, Schuylkill Avenue.  I have a couple of quick shots here and I'll try to get some better pictures later.

This is a view from the yard level looking up at the city. Constructed the bridge from a piece of foam board and some strips of wood.

The tall building, St. Barbara area medical center, was the edge of the city scene before adding the rest. This area had just been a slab of foam core insulation board.

A view across the Schuylkill Avenue Bridge, ending at the intersection in front of the Saint Barbara Aluminum Corporation.  The bridge in the right rear is obviously a Kato double truss with a deck added to turn it into a highway bridge.  The street lights are from Kato as are the traffic lights, which had to be modified for American traffic by cutting off the light units and gluing them in the opposite direction.

A lot remains to be done as far as detailing, but at least I finally have the small yard in place.

VERY neat work, Jim. What do you use for lighting for your photograph?

Thanks for the kind

Thanks for the kind comments.

Dick, there is a fluorescent over the original part of town, which doesn't throw much light on the new section.  I lit that with a 15 watt small flood in a reflector clipped to a ceiling beam for the pic. I don't like using flash on model pictures as it ends up reflecting off all the bits of plastic we use.
