Todd,
Maybe a small issue. I just tried to set a custom thumbnail for the RTS file I have stored in my album for download (I have never used custom thumbnail so I dont' know exactly what to expect). Only a broken image displays. Here is the link to the album entry:
http://www.nscale.net/index.php?q=gallery&g2_itemId=50407
The original image is 255x255 pixels JPG in my computer and it edits fine in MS paint.
Thanks,
Charles

The only time I have seen that happen was when the file was partially corrupt. Sometimes jpg's can be read by one program and not by another, it's rare but it does happen.
Have you tried uploading any other images since we moved?

Since you asked...
I noticed my album is empty; probably a result of the server move. Not a big deal since there wasn't anything important in it; but, like I said, you asked if anything was amiss, and it is.

Todd,
It is partly working partly not. There seems to be some inconsistent problem with the generation of the thumbnail clips. One of the earlier newest pic's thumbnail was showing as a broken, but if clicked on it to the point of "View Larger File" the actual image would show up.
Thanks for taking the time to work the site, I hope things work out best for your transitions and health. And thanks for all the time you have put in to the site!
Charles

Todd, I tried again today to upload a picture - this time one from the internet that I have saved on my hard drive. It says all went well but I get the broken window icon? The same thing happened with an RTS file that I pasted into Paint and saved as a jpeg? Please advise if I am doing something wrong. I am quite new to this, but I downloaded Bryan C's instructions and followed them.

Hi Gene, I took a look at your gallery/album and from what I see, you have five images there. Images two and three work just fine; the way they should.
Images one, four and five do have a problem in that they display the broken picture icon. But this only seems to impact the thumbnails. If you click an image you will still get the broken icon but if you subsequently click on "View Larger Image" you will really get to see the image!
I have heard of others having this same issue. So, it seems the upload does work correctly but the gallery display mechanism has a problem or two. Or maybe I should say it has an "opportunity or two"!
I'm not sure how this impacts inserting images into posts.

Bryan C,
As far as I can tell (not knowing anything about the details of the way Drupal creates the reduced images for thumbnails and other reduced size copies of images). It seems the thumbnails are created once and stored (as seems to be implied by some info on the upload images page), and at the moment that process seems broken. If anyone else has been able to load images with working thumbnails since the transition, I would be a little surprised. If that is the case, the problem is not stable. But all the images I have loaded have behaved the same way.
For posts that reference a full sized copy of the image (the insert image tree), those work, for the thumbnail ones (the G2 tree) you get the dog-bite image. I have not tried the re-size function for posts that reference the full image but re-size it for the post.

Dick, I have gone through the 15 pages of your gallery. There are three "broken" icon on page 12 and one on page 13. As was noted above the pictures are actually there; it just seems the thumbnail generation mechanism is what is broken.
With each of the four "broken" images, if you click on it you get the usual display page, again with the broken icon. However, if you then click on the "View Larger Image" link, you will actually get to see the image!
Whew! A lot of work, but the image is there! It is the thumbnail aspect that the powers that be are looking into right now!

Bryan, I hadn't checked here in about a week so when I read your post to me I tried my gallery. I clicked on one of the broken icons and then on view larger image and I got the picture of my layout. Great. So I tried another and nothing happen, so I tried them all in turn? The images never appeared on the galllery page but I found one on the windows tray at the bottom of my screen??? So, what's next?

Gene, you also have four broken images in your gallery/album. Using the method described above I was able to view all four of them!
What's next? I would say that we just wait for the problem to be corrected!
It is still possible to make use of gallery pictures in posts if you use the Insert/Edit Image tool and NOT the G2 tool. I'll try to post more detailed information in the next day or two.

The last two times I signed on to your web site via my user name and password, my internet connection crashed. To the point of having to re-boot both my computer and modem. This happens with no other sites I visit.
Truly a strange event. Running a very old processor (Pentium III) with 1gig ram, XP professional, latest updates (SP3), Windows Explorer, v 5.1. sp2 Signed into N scale site, posted a number of forum responses no problem. As soon as I went to the search dialog box, and searched on my picture gallery
("kerry") the explorer went to the following-
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
